me this 15th. of January 1785
Who being upon Oath say, and first the said Walter English< no role >
says that about 10 oClock this morning a person now present
who calls himself Joseph Partridge< no role >
came into his Shop, and
on being asked by this Informant what he wanted, replied
that he wanted to purchasesomea Waistcoat piecethat
said Joseph Partridge< no role >
hesitated for some time and seemed
Much ConfusedThat he this informant knocked with
his foot on which the said James Grant< no role >
came up into the Shop
That in a few Minutes he perceived under said Partridges Coat
the two pair of Silk Stockings now produced which he is
very ware are his property and were taken from off the
CounterThat this Informant then charged said [..] Partridges
with robbing him on which he dropped said Stockings
And the said James Grant< no role >
for himself says that he saw
said Partridge drop said Stockings in the said Shop and
picked them up
