The Informations of Clement Harris< no role >
of Blue Anchor Alley Brook Street in the
Hamlet of Ratcliff in the Parish of Saint
Dunstan Stepney in the said County Watchman
Taken this 29th. day of December 1784
before me one of his Majestys Justices of the
peace in and for the said County.

Who being on his Oath saith that about five
of the Clock in the Morning of Monday the
Twentieth day of december Instant. he was passing
by the door of Mr. John Scott Whiting< no role > of Broad Street
in the Hamlet aforesaid Sugar Baker. who called
to Informant from his two pair of Stairs Windows
and cantioning him not to make an Alarm ordered
him to go round to the back past of his house at the
same time telling Informant he was apprehensive
some Thieves were there, That Informant went
accordingly to the back Garden Gate, and when there
saw two men coming out of the Garden of Messrs. Hicks
and Harriot (adjoining to the Garden of the above named
Mr. Whiting.) the Pales of which were broken down.

That the said two men began to run with Intent as
Informant apprehended to get out of the Gate. whereupon
Informant called out to Hall a private Watchman
and saiyed there were the Thieves, and as they were
Coming out of the Gate he knocked one of them down
with his Staff. the other at the same time standing close
to him that was knocked down, That Informant being
then willing to secure one of them and fearful that the person
