The Information of John Rogers< no role > Boatswain
of his Majesty's Armed Ship the Whitley now
lying at Deptfords, in the County of Kent
William Satchfield< no role > of the Orchard in the Hamlet
of Ratcliff in the said County Waterman and
Clement Harris< no role > one of the Watchmen of the
said Hamlet. Taken this Eighth day of
October 1784 before me One of his Majesty
Justices of the Peace in and for the said County

Who being on their Oaths Severally and respectively
say and first the said John Rogers< no role > for himself saith
That on Thursday the 30th. of September last a Survey of the
Copper belonging to the said Ship Whitley< no role > was by Oaths of
Mr. Emmett Brazier belonging to his Majestys Yard at Deptford
made when the Copper now produced and found in the Custody
of John Hennesy< no role > and Owen Sullivan< no role > was Condemned by
Order of the said Mr Hemmett as unserviceable, in Consequence
of which Condemnation the said Copper was left such a Man
Deck for the purpose of sending it on Shore the next day being
Friday, That on the friday morning on his coming [..] upon
Deck he Missed the said Copper as also an Iron Boat Grapnell
both of which are the property of his Majesty and which being
now produced he declares on his Oath as aforesaid on the
Copper and Grapnell belonging to the said Ship Whitley and
were as he verily believes feloniously taken and Carried
away by John Hennesy and Owen Sullivan< no role > two of the
Seamen belonging to the said Ship the same having been
found in their Custody and which said Two Men on the
Mustering of the Ship on the Morning last aforesaid
were absent, and further this Informant Saith not

And the said William Sachfield< no role > for himself Saith
that about the Hour of Twelve at night of Thursday the 30th. day
of September last being then at the Causeway of Ratcliff
Cross Stairs, he saw the Prisoners Henmry and Sullivan
as also John Howlett< no role > a Waterman [..] admitted an Evidence on his
Majestys behalf (all of whom are now here present) in a Boat
