taken before me this 10th. day of September 1784
Who being upon Oath say [..] and first the said Simon Shepherd< no role >
for himself says that he has lodged at William Litchfield< no role >
's in Down
Street for some time past, that Joseph Baker< no role >
now present has also
lodged in the Same Room with him, that early on Wednesday Morning last
he missed a key of his Box which key he is certain he had in his Pocket
about 7 or 8 o'Clock the Evening before, that in the Said Box was a
Leathern Bag now produced containing forty two Guineas and a half
in Gold two Crown Pieces 6 half Crown Pieces and some other Silver
this Informant's property, And the saidJr

says that having heard of the said Simon Shepherd< no role >
's being robbed and
that the said Joseph Baker< no role >
was suspected to have committed the Robbery
he this Morning apprehended the said Joseph Baker< no role >
and on searching
him found the said Leathern Purse< no role >
nor produced in the said Joseph
Baker< no role >
's Pocket and also found in his Pockets forty two Guineas and
a half in Gold six half Crown Pieces two Crown Pieces and some
other Silver now produced, And the said Simon Shepherd< no role >
further Says
that the said Purse & Money was stolen out of his Box and he verily
believes that the said Joseph Baker< no role >
stole the same
