Who being upon Oath say and first the said
John Bell< no role >
says that a Peacock now produced is the property of his
Grace The Duke of Northumberland and was stolen either
on Thursday Night or Friday morning last from his Graces
Premises at Sion in the County of Middlesex
together with
two other Peacocks and a Turkey Hen-That having some
suspicion that the said Birds were concealed in the Possession
of two Persons now present who call themselves George
Mc Dougal< no role >
and Mary Ward< no role >
, he obtained a Search Warrant
to search their Premises in Holborn-That when he
went to their House he asked the said Mary Ward< no role >

[..] after Several other Question, whether she had
any pied Peacocks to Sell, as he wanted to send them on board
Ship that Night, to which she replied, it was not in her
power to let him have any that Night, but in the Course
of [..] two days she couldThat he went away to said
Mc. Manus and they returned to Search said House
That he went up into a one pair of Stairs Room in said
House, the WIndow of which was open, where he saw the
said Peacock now produced standing on some Tiles of
ashed on the outside of the Window of the Yard and that
in said Room was a Quantity of Corn and Barley
scattered on the Floor, apparently for he said Bird to feed on and
no other Bird in said RoomThat Previous to his
going into said one pair of Stairs Room he went into
the Yard where the said Shed was, when he is very
sure there was no Peacock standing thereonAnd the
said Patrick Mc. Manus says that he went with said

to execute said Search Warrant and after
searching the Yard of said Mc. Dougals and Wards house
he went up to said One pair of Stairs Room where the said
