The Several Informations of Thomas Nash< no role > Mathew
Gooding
< no role > and William Gillard< no role > taken upon Oath this
16 day of Febry. 1782 before me Charles Triquet< no role > Esquire
One of his Majestys Justices of the Peace in and for the said
County

And first this Informant Thomas Nash< no role > for himself saith that
he is a Watchman belonging to the Parish of Saint George Hanover Square
And that on Thursday morning last between the hours of five and Six
oClock as he was on his Beat which is in Dover Street in the Parish
aforesaid, he saw, the Prisoner and another Man. turking about the Street
in a very, suspicious manner. That after he had done calling the last
Hour. at six oClock He did not immediately go home. but stay'd in Order to detect
them. Suspecting they intended Committing some Robbery, after the Watch
was gone. That in a very little time he saw said two men at the
Airy of the above said William Gillard< no role > very busy in pulling and
breaking up the Iron Bars in the said Airy. and immediately Seized
hold of One of the said Men, who calls his Name William Calley< no role >
and with the Assistance of the said Mathew gooding< no role > (a Brother Watch
-man ) took him to the Watch house, the other Man ran away
And this Informant Mathew Gooding for himself saith that he
is a Watchman beloning to the [..] Parish of Saint George aforesaid
And That on Thursday Morning last when hedohad [..] one calling his
last hour, of Six oClock, and coming down AlbermarleGraftonStreet, he was
called by the said Thomas Nash< no role > , to Assist him, in taking the
above said William Calley< no role > to the Watch house which he did
