The Information of Thomas
Allen Hale
< no role > of the Ship Wells now lying
at Stone Stairs in the River Thames in the
aforesaid County and Abraham Hughes< no role >
Son of William Hughes< no role > of Ratcliff Cross
Watchman Taken this fifth day of
January 1782 before me one of his
Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for
the said County.

Who being on the Oaths severally and
respectively say and first the said Thomas Allen< no role > for
himself saith that about the hour of Twelve o'Clock at
noon on [..] day the second day of January Instant
being [..] in the Cabbin of the said ship wells Country
Some Money he had then lately received from his Ca [..]
he heard the foot of some person walking upon Deck
when upon he took the money he had been counting up
(Thirty one Guineas) and put part on the Log Book
and the other he left on the Table at which Initant
one William Tingay< no role > came from the Quarter Deck into
the Cabbin and observed to Informed that he
TIngay was come in night timeThat informant
employed some little time after in looking over the
Log Book and then put the Money in his Chest and
Locked it when Tingay asked him if he was giong on
There Informant told him as he had no Victualer on
Board dressed he believed he must go on shore
That Informant then Locked the Cabbin Door and
came on shore with Tingay to the house of Mr.
Buffum in Broad Street Ratecliff. and drank a Pint
of Beer. Informant then asked said Tingay if have
would go with him to the Captains he having a Pair
of Steelyards to Carry there when Tingay said he
could not accompany him as he had Business to do in
Narrow Street Limehouse . Informant then left said
Tingay at Buffums and went to the Captains in
Great St. Helens and returned to the Ship between
Six and Seven o' Clock the same Evening and there
