The Information and Voluntary
Confession of William Nevill< no role > late of Reading
in the County of Berks but now Servant
to Elizabeth Carpenter< no role > of New Gravel Lane
Shadwell Widow . Taken this 21st. day of
November 1782 before us Two of his Majestys
Justices of the Peace in and the said
County

Who being on his Oath Saith that he is
now about Fourteen years of Age and that he was
Hered by the above named Elizabeth Carpenter< no role > about
three Weeks ago at two shillings per Week in the
Capacity of an Errand & Market boy. That on
Thursday or Friday the seventh of Novr. Inst. his Mistress the
(said Elizabeth Carpenter< no role > , Ordered him to go with her
[..] Marsh to drive home Two Cows which
She told Informant she had Bought but did not at
that time say of whom, That they accordingly went
down to Poplar and from thence to Blackwall
up Cole Harber Walked up to the first Stile on
the Marsh Wall then turned cross the fields into
Harrow Lane , and went directly to the Field Gate
(which Informant found unlocked) That he saw two
Cows feed [..] the said Field, both of which were in Colf whichhisInformant
Mistress to [..] him were the two Cows, and then
Asked him if they should take them both home or
only One when Informant Answered do as you
like either take one or Both, his Mistress then said
we will take both as it well [..] Save us the
Trouble of coming again Accordingly they drove them both
away from the said Field to the Field of Mr Eastop
adjoining to Fawdon fields where they Continued
