The Information of Thomas Wagstaff< no role > of the Parish of Saint.
Botolph Bishopgate London taken and made on Oath before
in David Wilmot< no role > and James Penleaze< no role > Esqr . of his Majesty's
Justices of the Peace in and for the County of Middlesex this
20th. day of November 1775 .

This Informant saith that Between six and Seven oClock on Saturday Might last on
Lamb smith< no role > came to Ann at a Public House known by the Sign of the Cock in Angel Alley
Bishopgate London and Acquainted him that he and his Comrades had mill'd a person
of Quantity of Silk and Red him if he would buy it, told him if he could raise about
Twenty or Thirty pounds he could make a Man of him this Informant told him he had
on about Five pounds with him & therefore desired to have about two hours to Consider of it
which Lamb Smith agreed to and Desired this Informant to meet him in about that
Time at the Black Dog in white Chaper & her Comrades wod. be there & wod. then
agree about the purchase of the Silk, about that time this Informant went to the
Place apponited & met with said Lamb Smith, one James Fryer< no role > , James Bean< no role > and two
others whose mound are un known to this Informant & it was agreed before this Informant
paid for the silk that a and said Fryer should go and Fetch it, according by this Informant
& Fryer lived a Coach at [..] Cud Turnpike to go to a Place called the word Cond near
Stepney, near which place Fryer told this Informant was a Summer House at the Bottom
of a Garden & that the silk was there, hewever when the Coachman had drove them
about Quarter of a Mile, Lamb Smith: came up to the Coachman and desired him to
Stop, Dammed this Informant Eyes & told him he had brought the Fraps, but he derised it
& said that he was wrtain it could not be True, then Lamb smith told the Coachman to drive
on & when he came opposite the white Horse in Mile End old Town with his Coach he refused
taking this Informant and Fryer any further, apprehending by the Expressions of
Lamb Smith when he Stopt the Coach that they was upon samething Cad. Lamb Smith
by this Tune came up to the Coach again & his Comrades as with him & Lamb Smith told
Fryer to pay the Coachman Accordingly the Coachman was paid and this Informant
Fryer & Crossed two Field to the back part of the Summer House as Mentioned
before,and Lamb Smith & another whose Name in unknown to this Informant got over
a Wall & Attempted to get into the Summer House the back way but by same means
were prevented there fore were under the Necessity of Coming back and on going
down a Road to the Fore part of the House, Lamb Smith observed a Coach in Waiting
in a case which leads to the Summer House, Damn my Eyes saith Lamb Smith Somebody
