and which receipt is produced by the said Lyon Elean< no role >
& by him averred to be the receipt of this Informant is
a false forged and Counterfeit receipt the same not
being the proper hand writing of this Informant nor had
this Informant any Money transactions with the said
Lyon Elean on the third of September 1774 nor any not
or Draft transacted with him untill September the 15th
of September 1774And this Informant further saith
That the she false forged Counterfeit receipt produced
by the said Elean is produced as a set off. of the aforesaid
Drafts with intent to cheat and defraud this Informant

And this Informant John Fikes< no role > for himself saith that
he is in Copartnership with the other Informant
and was present with his partner at the time of the
Transaction with the said Lyon Elean in respect to the
said Lyon Elean is averring that the three first mentioned
Drafts were destroyed & saith that at the same time
the Lyon Elean pulled his Book out & this Informant
saw therein one of the said three Drafts for the [..]
£20 which this Informant snatched out ofthe Bookhis hand &
[..] destroyed & then the said Eleanagainaverred that
the other two were destroyed upon which the other Informt.
his partner gave the two other drafts. the One for £100
& the other for £50 And this Informt. further saith that
he was present when the said Elean applied and got the
two receipts abovementioned and confirms the account
of that Transaction given by the other Informant and
this Informant further saith that the aforesaid receipt
for One hundred & Sixty pound is a false forged and
Counterfeit receipt & is not of the hand Writing of
