Maketh Oath and Saith that the abovenamed prisoner Elizabeth
Wilson< no role >
having (as this Deponent Verilly believes) Stolen several pair of
Stocks out of the Custody of this Deponent as Governor of the Work house
for the said parish of Saint Martin in the Fields this Deponent did
go with one of the Overseers and a Churchwarden of the said parish
to Hicks Hall
in Saint John Street
and did there preferr a Bill
of Indictment against the said prisoner for the said Felony and give
Evidence thereon before the Grand Jury who returned the same to be
A True Bill And this Deponent further Saith that being informed
the Saturday following by a Message from Mr. Deacon the Clerk of
the Arraigns that the Tryal of the said prisoner would come on that
Morning this Deponent sent to and in a short time afterwards went
himself to the said Overseer one of the other Witnesses to Acquaint them thereof and
desired him to get ready and Attend at the Sessions House in the Old
Bailey
to givetheirEvidence against the said Prisoner on the Tryal
of the said Indictment and to inform the other Witness the Churchwarden
thereof which he promised to do And that they would be there
within an Hour And this Deponent being Master of the said
