Middlesex To wit

The Information of Margaret Williams< no role >
taken before me this 5th. day of
December 1771

Who being upon Oath says that yesterday Morning about 9 o'Clock
a person now present who calls himself William Clayton< no role > came to her
Master's house to drink some Milk, that at this Time she was in the
Cow house milking the Cow and that no person to her knowledge was
in her Master's house, says that she gave the said William Clayton< no role > a
Pint of Milk, that the said William Clayton< no role > gave her a Shilling to change
that having only Half pence in her Pocket she went into the Kitchen
for a Sixpence, that the said William Clayton< no role > followed her into the
Kitchen, Says the Kitchen Door was then locked, that when she went
into the Kitchen with the said William Clayton< no role > her Master's Silver Watch
was hanging by the fire Side, that she gave the said William Clayton< no role >
a Sixpence and some half pence in Change, that he then desired this
Informant to give him another Pint of Milk. that she then left the said William
Clayton
< no role > in the Kitchen and went into the Dairy which is opposite the Kitchen
Door to serve a Woman with a half penny worth of Milk, that she came
out of the Dairy and met the said William Clayton< no role > coming out of the
Kitchen, that it being then inclined to rain she asked him if he would
have his milk in the Kitchen, that he said No and went before her to the
Cow house where she served him with a second Pint of Milk that she
immediately returned into the Kitchen and missed the Watch, that no
person was in the Kitchen except the said William Clayton< no role > and
herself from the Time she saw the Watch to the Time she missed it
and that she was not absent above three or four Minutes in
which Time the Watch was Stolen
