Pieces of Bricks thrown at him whilst in the Pond
like Showers of SnowBelieves after he had been in
the Pond up to his Arm pitsupabout half an hour
Informant went up to the Mob and Said "You will kill
the Man & some of You will be Hanged"
That then they Drawed back a bitAnd Informant and
Another (he knows not who) Pulled the Deceased out of
the PondThat the Water in the Pond was Coloured with
Blood from the DeceasedThat when Deceased was
out of the Pond Some of the Mob Damnd' Informant
And Said he was one of Clarkes Confederates and threatned to
Put Informant in with himthemhimThat then Informant
went away And get behind the MobBelieves there
were Two or three Thousand PeopleThat after the
Deceased had been Out of the Water about a Quarter of an hour
the Mob cryed Hurra several times and Put him in the
Water againThat then Informant went away
and staid about half an hour and then went to the Edge of the
Pond and Saw them throwing again very fast
Believes Clarke could then See but was not Sensible
That soon after this he saw a Piece of Brick or Stone
Hit him on the left side his Head which caused the Blood
to Pour partly with a Stream into the Water
That after Receiving that Blow he put his Hand to his
Head and Stroked the Blood of and said Gentlemen
You use me CruellyThat about five or Six
Minutes afterwards somebody Said "Here Come Justice
Fieldings People" and some Talked of the Keeper of White
Chappell GoalUpon which the Mob Ceasd throwing
