I Charles Gowras< no role > a private Soldier in
Col Twyselton's Company in the 3d Regiment of
Foot Guards, do this 19th Day of October 1771
make Oath before John Lane< no role > Esqr One of his
Majesty's Justices of the peace for the said County, City and Liberty, and
say, That a person now present, who calls herself Mary Giffard< no role > ,
did this Evening, feloniously and privately Steal from My person
(by picking my Pocket,) of a Five Shillings and three pence
piece of Gold, of the Current Coin of this Kingdom; and Two
Shillings in Silver, of the Current Coin of this Kingdom. And
I the said Charles Gowras< no role > , do expressly and positively upon
my said Oath Charge her the said Mary Giffard< no role > with
having been guilty of the said Robbery, and No other
person or persons whomsoever
