Blankets and Linen Coverlid now produced peter property
and the Box and Locking Glass is the Property of her
Mother Elizabeth Jordan< no role > which [..] said Goods were
Stolen out of the abovementioned Parlor belonging to
her Dwelling House & further saith that on Wednesday
Morning last she examined the said Parlour Door
& found that it had been Attempted to be Broke open
in two Places & also examined the Parlor Window
& found it had been forced Open the Staples of the
Bolt were Drawn and a Piece of the Window Shutters
Broke off
And the Informant Robert Westcott for
himself saith that he was the Officer of the Night
on Tuesday last & took the Charge from the other
Informant Wm Day< no role > & Malcohn Murray< no role > ; & upon
the Examining the two persons now present
who call themselves William Mitchell< no role > & John
Carter
< no role > whose property the abovemd. Goods were
William Mitchell< no role > say'd they were his Property
&alsothat he was a Labouring Man & was loath
to Loore a Day's Labor & therefore removed his Goods
at that late hour in the Night & had desired the said
John Carter< no role > to Assist him this Informant then
Examined Carter who say'd that Wm Mitchell had
desired him to Assist in the Removing of his Goods
that he was a Soldier & was to be upon Guard the
Next Morning & was afraid if he was detained that
he should to Fogged for his neglect of Duty upon
which this Informant discharged the said John
Carter
< no role > & detained the said William Mitchell< no role >
Upon this Informants charging the said Mitchell
with having Stole the said Goods are acknowledged
that he & the said John Carter< no role > had on the Teusday
Night Broke Open the said Parlour & Stole
the abovementioned Goods which are Sworn to
be the Property of the other Informant Sarah
