this 7th. day of October 1771
Who being upon Oath say and first the said William Ackman< no role >
for
himself says that on Wednesday Night last about 8 or 9 o'Clock
as he was going along the Strand
near Somerset house
two Women
now present who call themselves Mary Bateman< no role >
and Ann Beane< no role >
intruded themselves into his Company and kept talking to him
that near Somerset house
he was knocked down by a Soldier and
his Watch now produced and a Bundle containing a Coat two Waistcoats
and other things were stolen from him and that he does verily
believe the Said Soldier and the Said two Women now present
were all concerned in robbing him, and the said Henry Steel< no role >
for
himself says that the said Watch was brought to him by the
said Mary Hatton< no role >
to be pledged, and the said Mary Hatton< no role >
for
herself says that last Thursday Morning the said Ann Beane< no role >
delivered the Said Watch to her and desired her to go and pawn
it
