The Information of William Taylor< no role >
taken before me this 13th. day of
October 1769

Who being upon Oath that he is a Peace officer, that he went
on Saturday Evening the 30th. of September with several other Peace
officers to execute a Warrant at the Dolphin in Cook Lane
Shoreditch , that upon they came into the house the Landlord said
up Stairs that he immediately went up Stairs, that he met several
persons on the Stairs who said they had been to say their Money
andthatdesired they would not hurt them,says that when they
came to the Door of the Room in which the persons were against
whom the Warrant was granted the same was opened by Mr. John
Leigh
< no role > , that it was immediately shut to again and a Curtain drawn
over the upper part of the Door which was Glass, that a Ball
was immediately fired through the upper part of the Door from the
said Room into the Passage where this Informant and others
were, that Mr.Wright the Magistrate was called and that several
other Pistols or Guns were fired from the said room before Mr.
Wright could come up Stairs, that the said Mr. Wright asked
them to surrender and that several Voices in the said Room said
they would not, says that soon ofterwards the Lenthern which
hung upon the Stairs was broke by a Shot fired from the said
Room
