Middlesex To wit

The Information of Edward Snape< no role > and Alexander
Marks
< no role > taken before me this 23d. day of August 1769

Who being upon Oath severally say and first the said Edward Snape< no role >
for himself says that on Tuesday the 15th. day of August Instant a little
after 8 o'Clock he was robbed near the 7 Mile Stone upon Finchley
Common by a Single Highwayman of a half Guinea and two half Crowns
says that he saw Some Gentleman Coming up to whom he gave an
Account of the said Robbery says that he believes they pursued the
said Highwayman, and the said Alexander Marks for himself says
that he was returning from Barnet Raw on Tuesday Evening the
15th. Instant he saw some Gentleman pursuing a Man & crying out
Stop the Highwayman upon which he also pursued, that after riding
Some Distance he picked up a Pistol at the Place where the Prisoner
now present who calls himself Joseph Simpson< no role > was apprehended and
that he saw a Constable take a half Guinea and two half Crowns
from the person of the said Joseph Simpson< no role > , and the said Edward
Snape
< no role > for himself further says that the said Joseph Simpson< no role > now
Present is very much like the Man who robbed him as aforesaid
