taken before me this 11th. day of July 1769
Who being upon Oath severally say and first the said Catherine
for herself says that on Saturday last about 5 o'Clock one Benjamin
Jones< no role >
and another Person came to her Room when she was making a fire for washing
and asked her to buy a Pair of Stockings which he had with him, that
upon this Informants refusing the said Benjamin Jones< no role >
observed
to her that she had Rings on her fingers, that he seized hold of
her hand and desired to look at one of the Said Rings which was
a Gold one, that she this Informant refused to take it off
from her finger upon which the said Benjamin struck this
Informant violently on her Arm and twisted it round saying
"Damn you you Bitch I'll break your Arm" that the Said Benjamin

then forcibly and feloniously took and carried away the said
Gold Ring from this Informant, and this Informant Mary Jones< no role >
for herself says that she saw the Said Benjamin Jones< no role >
at the Time and
Place abovementioned, that he came into the Yard where she was washing
& after Shewing her the said Gold Ring run away
