London Deposition of a Witness taken at London that
is to say at the parish of Saint Dunstan in the
East in the Ward of Tower in London
aforesaid this 30th. day of July 1799 on view of
the body of John Bissett< no role > now here lying
Dead.

Edward West< no role > of No. 2 Chamber Street Goodmansfields an
Excise Watchman maketh oath that between eleven and
twelve in the Night of Saturday last Dept. was onboardDuty
as an Excise Watchman on board of a Lighter that lay next
but one to youngs Quay in the parish of Saint Dunstan in the
East That Dept. saw a Man whom he believes to be the deced standg
on the Gun whale of a Lighter that lay next to the one Dept. was
in [..] who called to Dept. and asked Dept. who
he was Dept. told him he was an Excise Watchman and asked
him who he was he sayedWatchmanhe was the ships Watch-
man that it was then very dark That Dept. just turned round and
heard something fall in the Water Dept. halloed to the said Man
but receiving no answer concluded he had fallen [..]
Dept. then gave the alarm and some persons came who with
Dept. got the deced out of the water into the Lighter he had
before been in-That he appeared nearly deadThat soon after
the deced was gothimon Shore that the he then appeared quite deadand
