Southwark Depositions of Witnesses taken at the Workhouse
of Saint Olave situate in the Parish of Saint
John within the Borough of Southwark in
the County of Surrey this 23d. day of March
1799 on view of the body of William Walker< no role >
now here lying Dead

Richard Preston< no role > a Fisherman and a lodger at Mr. Holmer White< no role >
Lion Court Bankside Southwark maketh Oath that between twelve
and one on Thursday Noon last Dept being in a Boat and having
a Grapling over board dragging the any thing Dept. could find he
found something heavy to the Grappling and pulling it up found it to
be the deced whom Dept. has known between fourteen and
Fifteen years that the deced was a Purlman appeared to have been
some time under worker. Dept. has heard the Wife of the deced
say that the deced was drowned about three Weeks ago while
going through London Bridge [..] in his own Boat
Dept. conveyed the deced on third near Pickle hearing Stairs and
gave information to the Beadle of Saint Olaves Parish
