London Deposition of a Witness taken at London
that is to say at the parish of Saint Bridget
otherwise Bride in the Ward of Farringdon
without in London aforesaid this 18th. day of
October 1797 on view of the body of William
Dew now here lying Dead

Harriet Smith< no role > of No. 33 Bethnal Green Road spinster maketh
Oath that she hath been Servant to the deced about sixteen Months
during which time he has been a Prisoner in the Fleet Prison
that the deced has been afflicted with the Gout Very much during
that time and in a declining every the whole time. That
about a Week ago the deced was taken with a violent bleeding
at Nose since which time he has been ill with a bad Sore
Throat and about fivethreeDays ago a Fever came on him
which abated on Sunday last but the deced has continued to get
worse daily until Monday evening when he departed this
Life- [..] That he was attended by a Surgeon during his
illness
