An Inquisition Indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at the parish of
Saint George within the Borough of Southwark in the County of Surrey on the fourth
day of November in the thirty seventh year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George
the third by the grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender
of the faith and so forth before Thomas Shelton< no role > Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the
King for the City of London and Borough of Southwark on view of the body of
William Booker< no role > now here lying dead by the oath of George Dutnell< no role > James Woodney< no role >
George Williams< no role > Joseph Barton< no role > John Naylor< no role > William Cooper< no role > Henry Wright< no role > James

men of the Borough of Southwark aforesaid who being now here duly
chosen sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the King when how
and in what manner the said William Booker< no role > came to his death say upon
their oath that the said William Booker< no role > on the third day of November in the
year aforesaid at the parish aforesaidWithin the Borough of
Southwark aforesaid in the County aforesaid not being of sound mind memory
and understanding but lunatic and distracted one end of a certain rope of no value unto
and about a certain beam in a certain shop belonging to him the said William
Booker there situate and the other end of the said [..] rope round and about. his own
neck did then and there fix tye and fasten by means whereof the said
William Booker< no role > did then and there hang Strangle and suffocate himself of
which said hanging strangling and suffocation the said William Booker< no role > did
then and there die And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their oath aforesaid do
say that the said William Booker< no role > not being of sound mind memory and
understanding but lunatic and distracted did hang and kill himself
In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner as the said George Dutnell the< no role >
foreman of the said Jurors on behalf of himself and the rest of his fellows
in their presence have to this Inquisition set their hands and seals the
day year and place first above written
