Southwark -Deposition of a Witness taken as the
parish of Saint John within the Brough of
Southwark in the County of Suvvey this 3d
day of May 1796 on view of the Body of
William Denney< no role > no here lying Dead in the
Workhouse of Saint Olave Parish.

Peter Perrin< no role > of 1798 Morgam Lane< no role > in the parish
of Saint Olave in the Brough of Southwark a Watchman
to Mr. Bar of Symonds Wharf in the parish aforesaid
Wharfinger singer< no role > maketh Oath that he hath known the deced
William Denney< no role > about twelve year that he was a
Mariner belonging to the Bris Isabella of Yarmonth
of which Vessel oneDerman was Master that
the said Vessel lay as said Wharf-that about ½ part
ten on Saturday Night last Dept. was on the Watch
as said Wharf that the deced came on the Wharf and
Rassel Dept. & went to the cord of the to Wharf in order to
go on board the said VesselDept. lighted the deced to
the end of the Wharf and the deced go on a Ladden which
was placed from the vessel to the Wharf the side having ibbed
that the deced appeared intoxicated and had not got above
two or three steps down when he fall from the Ladder into
the Water between the Vessel and the Wharf. Dept. gave
the alarm immediately-that in about five Minutes after
the deced was taken out of the Water by some persons whom
Dept. had called from a public house just by and was placed
on the Wharf that he appeared to be alive but quite insensible
that he was taken into the public house just by where Dept.
left him under the Care of a Surgeon that in about an hour
after Dept. went to the public house and the deced was
then quite dead. Dept. understood means were tried by
the Surgeon to restone the deced.
