Depositions of Witnesses taken at London
that is to say at the parish of Saint Dunstan
in the East in the ward of Tower in London
aforesaid this 8th. day of January 1795 on
view of the Body of Edward Sayers< no role > now
here lying Dead

Edward Hart< no role > of No. 45 Joiner Street Tooley Street Southwark
Hair dresser maketh Oath that he hath known the deced about
twelve Months-that he was a Watchman & sometimes employed
by Mr Ogle a Wharfinger-that about six oClock in the Evening of
Monday last Dept. was on Duty as a Watchman on Wiggins Quay
that the deced ware employed & on Duty as a Watchman on Ralph
Quay [..] adjoining to wiggins Quay that the deced appeared
to be sober & him & Dept. walked backwards & forwards on the
too Quays conversing together that after walking some ten or
twenty Minutes. the deced left Dept. & went toward Ralphs
Quay that several other persons were in Company with the deced
& Dept.-that a few Minutes before twelve that night a person
who was also [..] Watchman on the same Quay with Dept
sayed God bless me there [..] overboard-Dept and
him immediately went to a Lighter lying between youngs &
Wiggins Quay and on looking down they saw a Man playing
in the Water. they threw a Rope but without effect-that
after trying some time without effect a [..] some Grappling
from were brought and after trying a little time the deced
was looked up to the waters edge by the Grappling Irons
that he was soon after taken on Shore but was quite dead
that Dept. [..] assisted in taking to the deced to the
Antigallicon pull in House in order that the method
directed by the Human Society might tried.

London maketh Oath that on Monday night last Dept. was
employed as a watchman in young Quay that he saw the deced
employed as a watchman on board Lighter which lay betweennext
youngs & Wiggins Quay-Dept. went on Duty at ½ part 4
the deced was then on Duty-& walked backwards & forwards
upon the Quay in Company with [..] & other some time
