An Inquisition Indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at the Parish of Saint
Olave within the Borough of Southwark in the County of Surrey on the eighth day of June in the thirty second year of the
reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and
Ireland King defender of the faith and so forth before Thomas Shelton< no role > Gentleman Coroner for
our said Lord the King for the City of London and Borough of Southwark on view of the Body of
John Burbank< no role > now here lying dead by the Oath of Thomas furthing< no role > Joseph Speck< no role > , Thomas

men of the Borough of Southwark aforesaid who being now here duly chosen sworn and charged
to inquire for our Lord the King when how and in what manner the said John Burbank< no role > came
to his death say upon their Oath that the said John Burbank< no role > not being of sound mind
memory and understanding but lunatic and distracted on the seventh day of June in the
year aforesaid at the Parish and Ward aforesaid in London aforesaid One end of a certain
piece of Cord of no value unto and about that tester of a certain bedstead in a certain
room in the dwelling house of him the said JohnNorrisBurbank< no role > situate in the parish
and Wood aforesaid in the County aforesaid and the other end of the said piece of Cord unto and about
his own neck did then and there fix tye and fasten by means whereof he the
said John Burbank< no role > did then and there hang strangle and suffocate himself of which
said hanging strangling and suffocation he the said John Burbank< no role > did then and
there die And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say that the said
John Burbank< no role > not being of sound memory and understanding but lunatic and
distracted did hang and kill himself In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner
as the said Thomas Swithin the foreman of the said Jurors on behalf of himself and
the rest of his fellows have in their presence to this Inquisition set their hands and
seals the day year and place first above written
