Southwark

Depositions of Witnesses taken at the
Parish of Saint John within the Borough
of Southwark in the County of Surrey
the 16th: day of April 1791 on view of the
Body of Samuel Sallinstall< no role > now here
lying Dead.

Benjamin Curtis< no role > a Waterman and a Lodger at
Mr. Wilshire fair Street Horsley [..] in the
Borough of Southwark maketh Oath that about ½
part five OClock Yesterday Morning on Dept. going
down to Daries's Wharf of the parish of Saint John
to the Borough aforesaid he saw the body of a person
lying on the Mud near said Wharf [..] face Upwards
that on Dept. going to the body he foud it to he
the body of one Samuel Saltinstall< no role > of the Parish
aforesaid Lighterman that Dept. got the body on
Shore & conveyed it to the Phoenix Arms Publick
house just bythat the deced had all his Cloath, and
had onthat Dept. examined the Body that there
are no marks of violence whatever on him.
