Thomas by divine Providence Archbishop of Canterbury Primate of all England and
metropolitan To Our beloved in Christ Robert Crafton< no role > and Robert Bagley< no role > Churchwardens
of the parish of Saint Dionis Backchurch in the Deanry of the Arches London (the
peculiar and immediate Jurisdiction of Us and of over Cathedral and Metropolitical Church of Christ
Canterbury ) Greeting in Our Lord God Everlasting, Whereas The Parish Church of Saint
Dionis Backchurch aforesaid is become vacant by the Death of John Smith< no role > Doctor in Divinity
the last Rector and Incumbent thereof and at present is destitute of an Incumbent, Least the Freceits
Tythes Profits oblations obventions and other Rights and Emoluments Ecclesiastical now due to the
said Church or arising and belonging due during the Vacancy thereof should be emberrled or wasted
or applied to improper uses We have Decreed all and singular the Fruits Tythes Profits
Oblations Obventions and all other Rights and Ecclesiastical Emoluments whatsoever belonging to
the said Church to be Sequestered for the use of the next Incumbent or of such other Person as
shall have right thereto And We do Sequester the same by these presents to publish therefore or
cause to be published this Our Sequestration in the Parish Church aforesaid and other Public
and proper places where you shall see most expedient as also to ask for demand, collect, levy
sequester and receive into your bands and keep or cause to be kept under safe sequestration All,
and singular the Fruits Tythes Profits oblations obventions and all other Rights and Ecclesiastical
Emoluments aforesaid belonging to the said Rectory in whosoever Hands being or remaining and with
the same so Collected, sequestred or received to cause the Cure of the Souls of the Parishioners there
to be served and all other Charges belonging to the said Church to be sustained and discharged We commit
unto you in whose Fidelity We very much Confide Our Authority and do grant Our full Power and
Authority by these presents Provided you render to Us or Our Dean of Commissary when you shall be
duly required a true and faithfull Account of the Residue for the use of the next Incumbent or such
other person as shall have right thereto And We ordain depute constitute and appoint you Special
Sequestrators or Collectors of the said Parish Church by these Presents. In Testimony whereof we
have caused the Seal of Our Dean or Commissary to be affixed to these Presents this thirtieth day of
November in the year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty six and in the tenth Year
of our Translation.
