Whereas Complaint hath been made unto & two of her
Maties Justices of the Peace for the County of Middx (Quorum nuns)
by the Churchwarden and Overseers of the poor of the parish of St. Dunstant
the Wosh for the Rolls Liberty in the Said County that Thomas Stone< no role > a
Child Aged About Seven Years is lately brought into the Said Rolls Liberty
contrary to Law And it appearing to be the Said Justices that the said
Thomas Stone< no role > is become chargeable to the Said Liberty And Whereas
upon Examinacon of Jane Babthorpe< no role > Widdow taken upon Oath it further
Appears to be that about Six Years Since the Said Thomas Stone< no role > (who is
a Bastard Child borne of the body of Elizabeth Stone< no role > a Singlewoman in the
Parish of St. Denni's Backchurch within the Citty of London) was put to
her by Faar Bennett< no role > then or Sine Churchwarden of the Said Parish of
St. Dennis Bark-Church to be Nursed Wee the Said Justices doe
Adjudge the Said parish of St. Denni's Backchurch to be the place of
Legall Settlement of the said Thomas Stone< no role > Emddoe therefore in
her Majtice [..] charge & Comand the Churchwardens & Overseers of the
[..] of the said parish of St. Dunstford the West for the Roll's Liberty afore
=said forthwith to remove & Convey the said Thomas Stone< no role > from the said
Rolli Liberty to the Said Parish of St. Donni's Backchurch and deliver
his to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor there or to
some or one of them who are hereby required to receive him into
their care and provide for his attending to Law given End. our
hands and sealed this sixth day of October Armod [..] 1708
