The condicon of this obligacon is such. That whereas the above bound Robert Cooke< no role > before the time
of the dread full fire which happened in London in September Anno Dni 1656 did hold by vertue of a lease
to him made by Nathaniel Hardy< no role > late Parson or Incumbent of the Parish church of St: Dionys Backchurch
London one shop neare the South church yard there franting Fenchurch streete And after the consumption
thereof by the said fire the said Robert Cooke< no role > contracted and agreed with George May< no role > Clerke the prsent
Parson or< no role > Rector of the said Parish for a longer terme in the ground on Loft of the said late shop And
whereas since the said contract and agreement the said Robert Cooke< no role > hath built or caused to bee built
upon the said Ground or Loft a shop and hath built one roome or story over the same with a Jetty of two
foote and three Inches over the said Church Yard from the roome over be said Shop and hath without
the consent of the Parishoners of the said Parish made some emroachment into the said Church
Yard for inlargeing the Stairecase of the said shop and built or caused to bee built one Chimney in
the said roome over the said Shop contrary to the will and mind of the said Parishoners If
therefore the said Robert Cooke< no role > his executors admstrators or Assignes at his or their owne proper
costs and charges doe and shall late downe the said Chimney or cause the same to bee taken
downe within five dayes next after notice or warneing to bee given in that behalfe to him them
or any of them by the Church wardens of the same parish for the time being or either of them
or by the above named Thomas Honilove< no role > Charles Ryves< no role > & James Smith< no role > or any of them or the exers:
or admstrators of any of them and upon complaint made by them or any of them or by any other of ye
said Parishoners of any nusance or annoyance by the said Chimney and shall after the
lateing downe the said Chimney stop the Roles or vents of the same & make noe other Chimney or
funnell in the stead thereof And further if the said Robert Cooke< no role > his executors admrs: or assignes
doe. and shall yearely and every yeare from the feast day of the annunciacon of the blessed virgin
Mary now last past dureing the terme of the said present lease and dureing all the additionall
terme contracted or agreed for with the said psent Rector truly pay or cause to bee paid unto
the Churchwardens of the said Parish of St: Dionys Backchurch or their Successors Church
wardens of the said Parish for the time being to and for the use and behoofe of the Poore of
the said Parishfor and in respect of the permitting the said upper roome Jetty and
einroachmt . to stand without mole stacon the yearely rent or sume of Tenne shillings of
lawfull money of England At the feast dayes of the Nativity of St John Baptist St. Michael the
archangell, the birth of our Lord God. and the annunciacon of the blessed virgin Mary, or within
tenne dayes next ensueing every of the said feast dayes by even and equall porcons That
then this obligacon to bee Void on els it to stand & remaine in full force and Ventue.
