I make bold to acquainted you, that I have
a Son in Christs Hospital, who being of a
proper Age to put out Appentice have got
him a Master (Coach & Coach hainess Maker)
but as it is not in my Power to pay a suffici-
-ent Premium for such a Trade have agreed
that the Boy should Serve Eight Years in
live thereof, and to find him in Cloaths
during that, time but having other Children
to Provide for, and not always in Constant
employ, humbly crave the loan of Five
Guineas far twelve Months for the above
purpose, for which will give my Note
jointly with my Brother (a Clerk in the
Custom House
) for the payment of the
same.

As I would by no means be thought
to become trouble some to these Parish humbly
hope you will be so Kind to grant me their
favor anyone may depend it shall be repaid
with many Thanks, and humbly Slatter
