Repairs of
Church
The Entries of the Minutes at the several Meetings of
the Committee for the Repairs of the Church on the
13th. of June, 23d. of June, 19th. of July, 23d. of August,
and 20th. October being read, Mr. Church Warden Tutet
acquainted the Gentlemen present that this Vestry
was Summoned agreeable to a Resolution of the
Pulpit
Committee, to consider of taking away the Sounding
Board, and on other affairs. And the matter being
taken into consideration, and the Letter from Dr.
Lynch, Rector
of this Parish (mentioned in the
Proceedings of the Committee) being read; and also
two other Letters from the Revd. Mr. Sellon, and Mr.
Edmiston, and several of the Gentlemen present
having delivered their opinions for and against
the Utility of a sounding Board in Churches, Mr
Galabin moved, that the Sounding Board over the
Pulpit be taken down, and being seconded by Mr.
Green, the Question was put, and passed in the
Negative.
Burials under
Pews
It was afterwards Moved, That no Burials in
the Church be Permitted in future under the Pews
lately taken up, (according to the Resolve of the
Committee on the 19th. of July) and being seconded,
the Question was put and carried in the Affirmative

The Vestry was then adjourn'd until an other Summons
Precinct Meeting
At a meeting of the Inhabitants of the North
and South Precincts of this Parish on Friday
the 15th. day of December 1786.
