The Minutes of the Last Committee were read.

The Memorandums of the several Sub Committees were read.

By the Calender of Prisoners there appeared to be

16 Men

rendering the Charity as
respectable as possible.
Resolutions.The Committee took into further consideration the order of reference from the General Court
for rendering the Charity and Prison of Bridewell as respectable and as extensively useful as
possible and agreed to the following resolutions.

Prisoners ought to be Kept
in Solitary Confinemt. Ct.That all Prisoners who are sent to this Hospital for punishment ought to be kept in
solitary confinement and a reasonable portion of Work assigned them to perform everyday.

Vagrants to be passed,
not to be confined in
Solitary Cells Ct.That all Vagrants committed to this Hospital to be passed to their respective Parishes
be not confined in solitary Cells but that they be obliged to perform the same proportion
of work as the Prisoners.

Workshops to be fitted
up, for Setting to Work
Persons inclined 'till better
provided forThat to prevent the return of such Prisoners as are discharged to their old habits of
pilfering and stealing Workshops be filled up where such Prisoners as chuse to work till
they can get into better employment shall receive the full amount of their daily earnings
making such allowance for the provisions of the House as the Prison Committee shall from
time to time think fit.

Buildings to be alteredThat to carry the above resolutions into effect they are of opinion that the whole of the
North and West side of the Inner Court including the Womens Prison be converted into
Ranges of seperate Apartments for solitary confinement and Labor The Ground Floor to be
appropriated for general Workshops with a Gallery of Communication and inspectionin the
back partthrough the whole adapting such apartments as may be most convenient for the
residence of the Servants.

Surveyor to examine &
Report thereupon.That the Surveyor be directed to examine and report to the Committee as soon as possible
how far the parts above mentioned [..] capable of being so adapted with an Estimate of
the expence.

And in order to obtain [..] session of the said North and West side of the Quadrangle
the Committee are further of [..] nion.
