Cafe

The Parish of St. Butolph without Aldgate Consists of two parts (vizt) The
[..] eedom part which is within the Liberties of the City of London And the other
[..] he calld the Lordshipp within the County of Middx Each part chose their own
[..] hers as Churchwardens & And the poors Rate and other parish Taxes are
[..] rate And each passes the poor the one upon the other as if they were two distinct
parishes But with Regard to the Church Births & Burialls they are Joint
[..] whatever Money has been layd out in the Repairs of the Church the Same has
[..] always paid by the Renter Churchwardens of both parts of the parish
[..] ally out of their joint Stock arising by Donations parish Rents Burialls
[..] now happens that the parish Church being in great want of Repairs And
[..] Said repairs(agreed to be done by the Joint consent of Coth parts of the parish
[..] a Vestry Summond according to the Antient Custome and usage of the
parish) will Amount to a considerable Sume more then the parish Stock can
[..] ay And therefore the Money's to be disbursd for that purpose cant be raisd
[..] out a Rate upon every Inhabitant

Whether each part of the Said parish are not to pay their Equall
Rtisety towards the Laid Repairs as usuall and Raise the Same
by Seperate Rates on the respective parts Or (the same being
Intendeds by a pounds Rate) must the Same be raised by One General
equall Pounds Rate on the whole parish It being Supposed that
in Such Case the Moneys raised by One part of the parish will Exceed
that of other.

[..] each division of the parish may in some Cases act seperate & have distinct
parochail Right Choose their own Officers & keep Seperate Accounts yet in
[..] tion to the Church they must be conceive be considerd Jointly & a General
usuall rate be made upon the whole parish For as the Inhabitants of
[..] Division have an Equal & Undivided right in the Church the Assesment
his made Upon Oath particaular person must bear an Equal proportion
[..] other Inhabitants without Distinction of Freedom or Lordship Where
[..] Contribution is for the publick Stock it may be Easier & more convenient
[..] parish to Alott a Moyety to be paid by Each Division, but if that Method
[..] to be pursued in the present Case It might be conceive neate an
quality in the Rate unless the Rents of Each Division Amount
