Carolina Bell< no role > the widow of Thomas Bell< no role > deced maketh
oath That divers years ago her Said late husband renter a house of the
Yearly rent of Ten pounds in the Parish of Greenwich in the
County of Rent & by means thereof gained a legal Settlement there That
he did not afterwards rent a house of the yealy rent of Ten pounds
or upwards or Serve any parish office or pay any Poors Rates or
Kings Taxes or do any Act to gain a Subsequent Settlement That She
This deponent Since her Said husbands death was hired & lived as a
hired [..] servant the year by with Hans Tennis< no role > of the Precinct of
Saint Catherine in the Said County Victualler to wit Middx at Certain wages
& Continued in Such Service for the Space of three years That at the time
of Such hiring & during Such Servitude as aforesd She this Deponent had
two Children namely Carolina< no role > now aged about ten years & Jeremiah< no role >
Aged about Eight years & upwds the lawful Issue of this deponent by
her Said late husband to whome She was lawfully married both of
which Children are Still living & have done no Act to gain a Settlement
for themselves That She this Deponent Since her Said husbands Death
hath not rented a house of Ten pounds a year or upwards or Served
any parish office or paid any Poors Rates or Kings Taxes or done any
Act to gain a Settlement for herself She this Deponent being informed
& advised that by her hiring & Servitude in manner as aforesaid no
Settlement was Acquired by her That She this Deponent hath a Child
named Peter James Hedgeley< no role > aged about fourteen Months
which Since her Said late husbands death was begotten on her Body
& born in the Parish of St Saviour in Southwarke in the County of
Surry & is illegitimate & Bastard & that one Peter Hedgley< no role > late
of the Wington in the County of Surry Painter is the father of the Said
Child
