Elizabeth Mills< no role > the Wife of Samuel Mills< no role > maketh
oath That she well knows a young Woman named Grace Gilbert< no role >
the Daughter of John Gilbert< no role > Woolcomber who is now resident in
the Isle of Guernsey and which Said Grace Gilbert< no role > is at present
a Lunatick so far disordered in her Senses that it may be dangerous
to permit her to go abroad and is become Chargeable to the parish
of St. Botolph without Aldgate in the Said County of Middlesex and
this Depont. Saith that divers years ago the Said John Gilbert< no role > lived
in & rented a house of the yearly Rent & Value of Ten Pounds in the
Parish of the Holy Trinity in the City of Exeter in the County of Devon
& Continued in the occupation of such house for many years and
by means thereof as this Depont. is advised he gained a legal settlement
there and to this Deponents knowledge or belief he hath not since done
any Act to gain a subsequent settlement That the Said Grace Gilbert< no role >
at such time was part of her Said Fathers Family and that to this
Deponts. knowledge or belief the Said Grace Gilbert< no role > never did any Act
to gain a settlement in her own right
