Charles Scales the elder< no role > & Father of Charles Scales the Youngr< no role >
maketh oath That divers Years ago his Said son was duly bound
apprentice by Indre by the officers of the Parish of St. Giles
witht. Cripplegate London to linn this Depont. who then lived [..]
Maidenhead Court in Aldersgate Street in the Parish of Saint
Botolph without Aldersgate in the City of London in Which last
mentoned Parish the said Charles Scales< no role > the Younger remained
& Continued as this Deponents Apprentice as aforesaid for the
space of three Months & during such time lodged & boarded in this
Deponts. house & did business there as his apprentice & by
means thereof as this Depont. is advised gained a legal settlement
there and this Depont. Saith that to his knowledge or belief his
Said son hath not since lived as an apprentice or as a hired servant
for a year nor rented a house of the yearly Value of Ten Pounds
or served any Parish office or Paid any Poors Rates or kings Taxes
nor done any Act to gain a subsequent settlement
