Edward Jencks< no role > maketh oath That divers
years ago he Rented a house in Lower East Smithfield in the
Parish of Saint Botolph without Aldgate in the County of
Middlesex at the Yearly Rent of Fourteen Pounds and
Continued the occupation thereof for about the space of Six
Months & by Means thereof as he is advised gained a legal settlemt.
there and this Depont. hath not since rented a house of the years
Value of Ten Pounds nor served any Parish office or paid any
Poors Rates or Kings Taxes or lived as a hired servant for a year
nor to his knowledge or belief hath he done any Act to gain a
subsequent settlement and that he hath a wife named Sarah to
whom he hath been lawfully married.
