which might by its example prevent the resort of the idle and
Profligate to the Metropolis.

Recommend

A Slop Shop

a Cheap Liven
Shop
with
reasons
for
both

Your Committee has to add in the next place the
suggestion of a Cheap Linen Shop, which might furnish
Serving work for the female part of the establishment, and
from whence the Hospitals of Bridewell and Bethlem and
any other Public Bodies who approved of the Plan of
employment as a measurer of general utitity might be
supplied with linen, and all Articles of Plain and useful
a Mire for the female Sex.That for this part of the establish (ment
it would be expedient to solicit the protection and inspection
of those Ladies whose benevolence interest them in the forlorn
Situation of the unemployed female Poor; and if more
employment were wanted, a Sufficiency might be obtained,
by Selling to the Poor, at a reduced Price, as is done at
Harting fod bury in Herts and at Bamburgh Castle in
Northumberland, in both instances with as much individual
Charity and relief to the Poor who purchase, as advantage
and occupation to the Charities who supply them.

Spinning wheels
Twine wheels,
Course Hats &
Mats. Candlea [..]
& a rope & twine
gard

That if other means of employment are wanting your
Committee would suggest the resumption of the Spining
Wheels and Twene Wheels, the Making of coarse Serviceable
Hats, and Mats, the preparing of Candlewicks, for Tallow Chandlers
and a large Rope and Twine Yard in a convenient place within
the Hospital. And for that general labour which should be
provided
