Continued Friday 11th. July 1777.

Minutes be confirmed except as to so much thereof as relate to the
Answer given by the said Committee to the request made by the Committee
of City Lands to this Court on the 26th. day of June last and in respect
to such request It is further Ordered that it be referred back to
the House Committee to reconsider the same and report their opinion
thereon to this Court.

Upon Reading a Report from the House Committee bearing
date the 4th. day of July Instant under the Hands of Nathl. Thomas< no role >
Esqr . Aldn . treasurer Mr. Deputy Rogers Nichl. Nixon< no role > Esqr . Samuel
Read
< no role > Esqr . Charles Hoyle< no role > Esqr . and Mr. Samuel Read< no role > in the Words and
figures following " In Pursuance of an Order of Court of the 26th.
June last whereby it was referred to this Committee to search for
Presidents of the Resignations of Presidents and also to consider how
far by Law a Person resigning his Office of Alderman must be
disqualified from being president of these Hospitals This Committee
were going to Proceed on such search when they were Informed by
Mr. treasurer that he had received a second Letter from Sir Walter
Rawlinson

Gentlemen on the Committee for managing the Affairs of Bridewell &
Bethlem Hospitals GentlemenHaving desired and Obtained
Leave to resign my Office of Alderman of this City on the Plia of
Inability to Attend to the Various Duties connected with it so for
the same reason do I now desire to resign the Presidentship of
Bridewell and Bethlem Hospitals an Honour you were Pleased to
confer upon me and for which I shall ever retain the most grateful
Sence, being your much obliged and obedient humble Servant

Committee that it will now be unnessary to make any Enquiry as
directed by the said Order All which is nevertheless Submitted to
the Judgment of the Court".-And also upon Reading a Letter from
Sir Walter Rawlinson< no role > knt . dated the 1st. day of July Instant
Addressed to the treasurer and Gentlemen on the Committee for
managing the Affairs of Bridewell and Bethlem Hospitals in the
words and figures following" Having desired and obtained leave
to resign my Office of Alderman of this City on the Plea of Inability
