Counless Dowager Gower the Sum of £500 as a Benefaction for the
Incurable Lunalicks in Bethlem Hospital out of the Charitable Fund
leque the sd to her Ladapship by the Will of the Right Honble Thomas
late Earl of Thanel her Ladyships Father to disposed of in such
Charities as her Ladyship should Judge proper And to be applied
by the governors
of the said Hospital towards Carrying on their Churchable
Designs in Reliving and Supporting the Poor Lunaticks in the sd. Hospital
It is Ordered that the Thanks of this Court be given to her Ladyship
for the aforesaid Charitable Benefaction and that the Clerk of these
Hospitals do Signify the same to her Ladyship And it is further
Ordered that the said Thomas Hill< no role >
be and her is hereby Elected a
Governor
of these Hospials not with standing the Order of Court of the
29th. day of June 1769

& Charitable Legavies to a great Amount particularly £200 to Bethlem
£500 to Christ Hospital
and £250 to St. Burtholomews Hospital

that a Contest has arisen and is now depending in the Prewngation Court
of Canterbury touching the Valictity of such Testamentary Schedule and Mr,
Bridgen now divers that the Govr. of these Hospitals will

a Share of the Expences of such Contes in such Average and Proportion as
their said Legacy bears to the other Legacies thereby given It is Ordered
that Bethlem Hospital do and shall Contribute sowards the Expence of
such Contest in the same proportion as the Hospital of christ next Saint
Bartholomen do and shall Contribute upon an Average to their respective
Legacies
