Hospital Dated the 27th. of October last under the Hands of Williams

into Comn. two Orders of Court made respectively the 20th. of June 1765 and
27th April 1769 (whereby many Regulations and Alterations were made for
the good Government and Advantage of the said Hospital) and were of
Opinion that further Improvements might still be made which would tend
greatly to the Credit and Welfare of the Hospital as well as the better Relief
of the Patients And it appearing to that Committee that thitherto the Steward
of said Hospital Received the Benefit of Providing the Bedding & Cloaths
for the Patients at certain Prices fixed by the Court. They were of

Opinion

1st


That for the future the Bedding and Cloathing for the Patients be
provided by & be under the direction of the treasurer and Committee [..]
Said Hospital for the Time being and upon the Death or discharged
any Patient the Bedding of such Patient to remain and be consider [..]
the Property of the Hospital.

2d.


That the Stewarde of said Hospital should for the [..] Receive
Settled Salary in [..] of all Perquisites & Advantages whatsoever

3d.


That the Sum of One Hundred Pounds P Annum be paid such [..]
for his Salary

4th.


That the Steward be Permitted to keep three Servants and no more

5th.


That the Steward be not Permitted to follow any Trade Business or
Employment but that he do and shall Appropriate his whole Time in
the Service of the Hospital

6th


That so much of the Order of Court dated 20th. June 1765 as direct & the
Steward shall provide and deliver out all necessary Bedding and
Cloathing for the Patients shod be Repeated.

And said Committee having taken into Consideration the present
Method of Admitting Persons into the Hospital to Visit and View the
Patients, and it appearing that great Irregularities and daily Committed
the Patients disturbed and often Robbed of their Provisions and Cloaths
by the Admission of improper Persons into the Hospital Said Committed
were of Opinion that for the future the Gates of the Hospital should be
kept constantly Street And that no Person or Persons whatsoever, Except
a Governor, or in Company with a Governor and the Officers and Servants
of the Hospital be Permitted to enter the same unless he she or they produc [..]
to the Porter of said Hospital Ticket Signed by one of the governors thereof
the said Tickets to be provided by and delivered out under the Direction
of the treasurer & Committee of said Hospital, And that one of the
Basketmen and Gallery Maids should attend all such Persons who
should come to View the Hospital And upon the Departure of such Persons
who should be Admitted no Officer on Servant of or belonging to sd. Hospital
shod present to ask, demand, or receive any Benefaction or Gratuity on
