Upon Reading the humble Petition of Benjamin Bailey< no role > of
Bridewell precinct London Carpenter Setting forthThat the
Petitioner holds under a Lease (No.3.4) form the Govrs. 2 houses
now made into one on the East side of the Great Gate of this
Hospital at the rent of £13 a Year wch will Expire at Xmas next

That the Petitioner is willing to take a New lease with
Usual Covenants from the Expiration of the Lease in being for
11 years at £10 P Ann rent clear of Taxes and to lay out £80
in Necessary repairs & to Execute a Counter part of such Lease
with a Covenant that he or the Tenant or Occupyer of the premes
from time to time will Serve the Office of Chappel warden of
the sd. Precinct when Elected thereto in the Usual manner & will
pay to the Chappel wardens or Overseers of the Poor of the sd
Hospl. & Precinct for the time being all such Sums of Money
as at the Usual Meetings comonly called Vestry Meeting of
sd. Chapplewardens & Inhabitants of sd. Hospital & Precinct
shall from time to time be rated or Assesed upon the Occupyer
of the sd. Premes in Equal Proportions with the rest of the Tents.
or Occupyers of Meses of Tenemts in the sd. Precinct towards
the Charge of the Scavenger Watch & poor of the Precinct
And with a Proviss that if the Govrs. shou'd think fit at any time
during the sd. Term to pull down the sd premes Then on paying
the Petr. the Workmens bills to be produced for the Repairs &
giving him half a Years Warning he will Surrender up the Lease
to be CancelledAccd praying the Govrs. will be pleased to
grant him a Lease Accordingly. This Court doth Order
the sd. petition to lay on the Table.

Ordered That at the Expiration of Benjamin. Bailey< no role > Lease
of his House (No. 3.4 ) which will expire at Xmas next it be
pulled down in Order to make a better Opening to the Hospital
