Upon Reading a Report from the Comittee of this House dated
the 29th. of November 1752 under the hands of Robert Alsop< no role > Esq
Aldn. Trear , Mr Joseph Vere< no role > Mr Saml. Southouse< no role > , Mr Richd Wilson< no role >
Mr Philip Grafton< no role > , John Tuff< no role > Esq Mr Richd Manby< no role > John Lock< no role > Esq
Phineas Cheeke< no role > Esq & Edwd. Umfreville< no role > Esqr as follows Vizt.In
Pursuance of an Order of Court the 17th. of July last this Comee
have Considered of a Proper Person to be Surveyor of the Works
and Workmen of these Hospitals And are Opinion That Mr Thos.
Holden
< no role > is a Proper Person and that £40 is a reasonable Allowance
for one year from Xmas next which is Nevertheless Submitted to
the Judgment of the Court And it is Ordered That this Opinion
be reported to the CourtThis Court having duly weighed and
Considered the said Report Doth Confirm the same.

Upon Reading the humble Petition of Thomas Jernegan< no role > of
the Parish of St. Peter le Poor London Carpenter Setting forthThat
by Lease from the Governors dated 9th. Decr. 1752 in Cons of
a Fine of £200 paid by the Petitioner He holds a peice of Ground
where on Several Old Houses Stood in Bishopsgate Street Old
Bethlem in the Parish of Saint Botolph Bishopsgate London part
of the Possessions of Bethlem Hospital And Agreed to build thereon
7 New brick Messes whereof he has abread built 4And
praying the Governors Lycence to Dennise to Abraham Brabins< no role >
of the same Parish Cheesemonger one of the sd Houses on the
Westside of Bishopsgate Street Adjoining Southward to the Corner
house of Old Bethlem for 14 or 21 YearsAnd to Demise to
Charles Boddington< no role > of the same Parish Hosier One other of the
said Houses being the Corner house of Old Bethlem for 14 or 21 years
And to Dennise to Joseph Austin< no role > and his Son Richard Austin< no role >
Hairdressers of the same Parish 2 of the sd Houses being the 2d & 3
on the North side of Old Bethlem for 21 YearsAnd also
to make an Assignment by way of Mortge of the sd 4 houses
and Leases to John Seale< no role > of Hatton Garden in the County of
Middlesex Gentleman This Court having duly Weighed &
Considered the said Petn. Doth Order
That the said Thomas Jernegan have the Lycence of this Court To
make such Several Demises and Assignment of the premisses
abovementioned as prayed.
