Upon Reading a Report from the Ground Comse at Bethlem Hospital dated the 31st day of
October last under the Hands of William Benn< no role > Esqr Aldn . President Robert Alsop< no role > Esq Aldn .Trear
Mr. Charles Cotton< no role > , Mr Uppinton Brace< no role > , Mr Richd Blenty< no role > Mr John Perkins< no role > , Mr John Forty< no role >

As follows Esqr. This Comittee Viewed The Uppon Stary of this Hospital and find that convenient [..]
may be there made on the Southside for 26 Men & 26 Women Anaswerable to the Col Newcon north
And Order this to be Reported to the CourtThis Court doth Order that it be referred to the same
Comittee to consider of the Expence of makeing 52 Cells in the Upper Storey & the state of the Reve [..]
of that Hospital with respect to the Charge thereof & the Maintanence of such an Additional
Number of Patients and to Report him Opinion thereon to the Court.
Also at this Court it is Ordered that it be referred to the Grand Comme of Bethlem Hospital with the
Plays Surgeons, & Appothecarys who are Governors to Consider of a proper place in the
Hospital for an Appothcarys Shop. and the Expence of making it & to report their Opinion thereon
to the Court.

Hawyes Wm to loose a Lease of
a Names in Fowkes Court (No. 47)}


Upon Reading the humble Petition of William Hawyes< no role > of London Sugar Broker Setting forth
That the Petrs. late Father Mr Wm. Hawyes< no role > by Agreement with late Trear Sold a
Mestre being the fourth house on the Woolridge of Dolphin Court otherwise Fowkes Court in Treas at
London with the Appintos (being val of the Possions of Bethlem Hospital) for one year from
Middsr 1744 at the rent of £28. Payable quarterly & afterwds. afsd bent at with to the time of
has Death (which happened about a Year ago) Nine which the Pottlaw held the same had
Acquainted the late Trear that he was willing to take a Lease for 11 Years or 21 Years if the
Governors wou'd Order it to be Painted (as the rest of the Houses in the same Court had then
lately been) and some other Small Necessary reparis which the Trear Lefired the Petr.
to do and told him the Charge shou'd be Allowed him on his taking a Lease and he had
Accordingly done the same and paid the bills Amounting to above £30And praying the
first 11 Years on 6 Months No true on either side for tha purpose & that upon his Execute
a Court put of such Lease he may be Allowed the Money he has laid out in the Sd Necessary
repairsIt is Ordered that the sd. Petition be referred to the Comittee of this House
to consider thereof & Report their Opinion thereon to the Court.

Upon Reading the Proposal of Robt. Hardcastle< no role > of John Street Goldner Squire London Prison
dated 8th. Octr 1750 as followsI do hereby propose to take a Lease of the Vacant Ground near
Bread Street Old Bethlem for 62 Years the first two Years to be at one Pepper Corn and to pay Yearly
afterwards 3s P foot for so many feet as shall Appear to be in that front Opposite Bakers buildings
and that I will Expend & lay out in Substantial Brich buildings upon Recor'd proposes within the
Space of 2 Years Two thousand PoundsIt is Ordered that the sd. Proposal be referred to the
Comittee of this house to consider thereof and report their Opinion thereon to the Court.

At this Court Mr. Cornelius Mortier< no role > and Mr. Dixon were confirmed Chapple wardens
till next Easter
