Wednesday 28th. January 1746/7

This Court being called according to the Order of last Court for the Election
of a President of these Hospitalls in the room of The Right Worshipfull Sr . Robert
Willimott
< no role > Knt . and Alderman deceased And the Right Honble the Lord Mayor
having at the request of many of the Governors declared his readyness to accept the
said Office if the Court should think fit to choose him HIs Lordship now declared that
as soon as they were ready to proceed to the Election he would have the Chair to Mr. Trear

And it being moved That the Orders on the Elections of former President s might
be read the following Orders were read on the Elections

It was also moved that the Order of 22d. Octr. - 1669 on the Election of Sr . Wm.

Govr. reced Charge


Then the Charge was read to The Most Noble The Duke of Beaufort The Rt
Honble The Lord Monson. The Rt. Honble The Lord St. John of Bldsoe Dr .
Mathew Lee< no role > , Samuel Ongley< no role > Esqr . & Charles Waller< no role > Esqr . as Govr. of these Hospitalls

And The Lord Mayor being retired into the Committee Room Mr. Treasurer
took the Chair.

And the Rt. Honble The Lord Mayor and all the Rest of the Alderman of
this City (Except the Presidents of the other Hospitalls of this City) being severally put
in Nomination according to their Seniority Mr. Treasurer declared the plurality of
hands were for the Lord Mayer Whereupon a Poll being demanded in behalf of
Sr . Daniel Lambert< no role > it was granted and the Governors who were for the Lord Mayor
continued in the Court Room & these who were for Sr . Daniel Lambert< no role > with tear
into the Dining Roon and Tellers were appointed Vizt. Sr . John Phillips< no role > Barrtt & Mr.
Deputy Pycroft for the Lord Mayor & Mr. Benjamin Cleeve< no role > & Mr. David Webb< no role > for
Sr . Daniel Lambert< no role > who having token an Account of the Several Numbers & the Govrs.
who had withdrawn returning into the Court Room the Tellers Reported that the
Number of Governrs. who staid in the Court Room for the Lord Mayor was 85 And
the Number of Govn. who with draw into the Dining Room for Sr . Daniel Lambert< no role >

was 69 - Whereupon Mr. Treasurer declared the Rt. Honble The Lord Mayor
duly Elected President of these Hospitalls untill the next Election day & Sr . John Phillips< no role >
Dr . Richard Rawlinson< no role > & Mr. Deputy Pycroft were desired to go into the Committee
Room and Acquaint His Lordship therewith which they did

Upon which His Lordship came into Court and from the Chair gave them his thanks
for their Election of him into the said Office which he said he Esteemed as a very great
Honour And that he would diligently attend the Service of the said Hospitalls &
to the almost of his power promote the landable purposes for which they were
instituted - And thereupon The Court returned their thanks to his Lordship
for his Acceptance of the said Office & the kind concern He had expressed for the
good of the said Hospitalls.

Artsmaster declared in his room


At this Court the Vacaney of an Artsmaster was declared in the room of
