Thursday 26th Febry 1740

Beadles Gratuitys ½ year
Xmas 1740

Upon reading the humble Petition of the four Beadles of this
Hospital for their usual Gratuitys of Forty Shillings a peice in
respect of the half year ending at Christmas last for that their
Salarys are but small. It is Ordered that the Clerk of these Hospitals
do give and pay unto them Forty Shillings a peice to be allowed
him in his next Account.

Basketmens Gratuitys ½yr.
Xmas 1740

of the Hospital of Bethlem for their usual Gratuitys of Twenty
Shillings a peice in respect of the half year ending at Christmas
last for that their Salarys are but small it is Ordered that
the Clerk of these Hospitals do give and pay unto them Twenty
Shillings a peice to be allowed him in his next Account.

Mr William Fletcher< no role > one of the Governors of these Hospitals
reporting to this Court that in pursuance of an Order of Court
the 27th. of Febry 1739/40 he and Mr. Robert Hall< no role > another of
the Governors of these Hospitals had made Enquiry and found
that Stephen Kyte< no role > who served his Apprenticeship in this Hospital
is set up for himself in the Trade of a Weaver and hath the
Character of a diligent and sober man It is Ordered that the
Steward of this Hospital do give and pay unto the said Stephen
Kyte Ten pounds out of Nor. Locks Gift to be allowed him in
his next Account.

Vacancy of an Artsmar. on
the removal of Thatcher

This Court declared the Vacancy of an Artsmaster of the
Hospital of Bridewell on the removal of Benjamin Thatcher< no role >
And it is Ordered that it be referred to the Comittee of this
House to consider of the poverty of the said Benjamin Thatcher< no role >
& to make their Report to the Court.

Govr. reced his Charge


At this Court the Charge was read to Thomas Carew< no role > Esqr . as
one of the Governers of the Hospitals.
