Upon reading the humble Petition of John Palmer< no role > of St. Andrew's Holborn
Carpenter and Jane Joyne< no role > of the parish of St. Ann in Westminster Spinster
SettingforthThat the Governors by Indre of Lease bearing date the 8th. day of
June 1738. [..] to the Petr. Palmer a peice of Ground whereon three brick
Messuages were lately erected and built seituate and being on the West side of
Water Street in the Precinct of the Hospital of Bridewell abutting Northward
on Crown Alley and Southward on a Messuage or Tenement in the occupation
ofClobes and Westward on Ground belonging to the Duke of D [..] containing
in front from North to South towards Water street 53 feet and 4 Inches of
assize little more or less and the rest of the said Ground being irregular
To hold for 61 years from Xmas 1737 at a Pepper Com Rent the first year
and £12 Pann for the remainder of the term clear of TaxesThat the
Petr. Palmer afterwards borrowed of Susanna Slater< no role > £500. and for securing
the Repayment thereof. by have from the Governors mortgaged the said
premisses for the Remainder of the Term. Subject to Redemption on
repayment of the said £500 and Interest as therein is mentioned
That the Petr. Joyne hath since paid the said £500 and Interest to the
said Susanna Slater< no role > and thereupon the said Mortgaged premisses were
assigned to the said Petr Joyne and confirmed by the Petr. John Palmer< no role > for
securing the said Mortgage money and InterestThat the Petr. Palmer
dis [..] of making an absolute Assignment of the said prmes to the Petr Joyne for the
remainder of the said Term of 61 years now to come and [..] and
praying that the Petr. Palmer may have leave absolutely to assign the said
premes to the Petr. Joyne accordinglyIt is Ordered That the said
John Palmer< no role > have the Licence of this Court to assign the said premises
to the said Jane Joyne accordingly.
