Upon Reading the humble Petition of Henry Godfrey< no role > Setting forth that
he Served be Apprenticeship to Gabriel Bestman< no role > Weaver man of the arts masters of
this Hospital by Indr dated 29th Sepr 1718 & by an order of this Court of the
12th November last he was on the Sixth Decemr. indant made Soe of this City and is
Set up for himself in his and TradeAt the sign of the Leg in Bow Lane in
Chaplin Anbell Treasurer Reporting to this Court that the Comittee of the
House on the 9th December instant inpected the Beck kept of the Apprenticeship behaviour
and found in Complaint agt himIt is Orderd that Mr Frances Powell< no role >
Mr Samuel Palmer< no role > & Mr Joseph Kettle< no role > three of the Governor of three Hospitall
or any two of them to desired to Enquire whether the said Henry Godfrey< no role > be set up a

in the 9th Decemr. Instant Respected the Book kept of the Apprentices behaviour and

A Preamble Drown up in Pursuance of an order of the let
Court to be Enterd in a Book for taking Subscriptions towards the Buildings for
Honable Lunatick being recd as Fellows ViztWhereas the Roges
of Bethlem London was Elected by Charitable Contributions and intended for
the Hairbouring from Lunaticks whose Distration might probably becaused
and the Reasons thereof are appropriated for the providing Dict & plynd
for such patients & Servants proper to attend them during such time as the
appears any hopes of Recovering them to them former Senses, But when also
a Tryal made. until the greatest application and Diligense, a Cure is
not found practicable, Then such are by the Rules of the Hospital
Discharged from thence to make room for the Admission of others whom
cure may probably be Effected And whereas these Incurable
Lunaticks when Discharged are Destitute of Releif & no Provision has
heitherto
