Governors Elected
Upon reading a Report from the comittee of the House dated the fourth day of
December last Settingforth that in persuance of two Orders of this Court One of the 29th. of
March 1723 & the other the 18th. of October last This Comittee having Consider'd of
the several Gentlemen following who were Nominated to be Governors of these Hospitals
It is the Opinion of this Comittee that they are proper Person to be Governor of the Court
shall think fit Vizt:

for his faultAnd being call'd & into Court He beg'd pardon of the Governors
and promised to behave himself well for the future Whereupon he was
reprimanded by the President
& Order'd to return home to his Master
Order'd that next Court be for the Election of an Artsmaster & that
Notice thereof inserted in the Ticketts

on the 14th March 1714/5 made free of this City & is Set up for himself in his said Trade
next door to the sign of the Sheets

of Mr Locks Gift the better to Enable him to carry on his said TradeMr. Treasurer
acquainted this Court that the said

this House on the 25th March instant & being ask'd by them why he did not apply

He said he was not able to Set up his Trade & confest that his Wife sells meat & that
he follows a Porters business
& has three Children but does not work at his own Trade
And this Court not finding any instance of any Persons applying for Mr Locks
Gift at and a Distance of time & who has all along had in Town & is not Set up in the
Trade be was bound Apprentice to & does not so much as work there at Are of Opinion
that the said
